The SBX has double the power and double the range in comparison to the SB1. This requires much larger motors and double the battery cells. The SB1 is great for cruising flat areas, but is definitely not built for climbing hills. The SBX has all of the range and features, including climbing steep hills. The batteries are not interchangeable between models since there is such a large difference in power.
